You would not make the evening news because there would not be enough air in your toon to pop anything. The water want compress it just forces the water pressure to the inside walls. A big water ballon is what we are talking about. Ever see a water ballon burst,No Energy. How about a ballon with air, Energy. That is the difference. Just make sure your toon is competely full of water before applying the air. The Yikes picture looks like what blew was the welds. As a general rule, the welds tensile, is more than the metal.
