Hi:
My project boat is a collection of a number of brought-together parts from other boats, but I'll try to describe relevant parts as best as I can:
5.7 GM crate engine - non-vortec, new SEI outdrive to accommodate the engine, shift cables came with my boat, which originally had a 3L mercruiser powerplant installed. Shift cutout switch came off of a trashed 1989 Sea ray w/ 5.7L powerplant (also where I got my heads/manifolds/tin/etc.).
Know that I also have a new shifter - which, for all I know, may have set-up improperly - causing this issue.
At https://vimeo.com/341121296 - I've posted a video of the way my switch is actuated when shifting - can someone tell me if this is the way it's supposed to work (I think not!), and perhaps offer guidance on how to make it work properly?
Seems to me this switch should only momentarily "bump" short when I go into neutral, right??
Thanks in-advance!!
