I just finished with the water pump, new housing (the PO cranked down on it and split it), new impeller, new thermostat and gasket. I put it in the barrel and let her run for a while. She stalled a few times, I traced that to a weak primer bulb. I think the check valves in it are bad. When I squeeze it, I can hear fuel pissing back into the tank. I'll get a new primer bulb.
My second issue is the big one. Right after I ran it, I sut it down, hosed it off and drained the lower unit oil... What came out, was a thick (like shampoo) white oil. I'm suspecting water intrusion... Is that what it looks like when water gets in? I'm asking becuase I read another link where it said that same substance could be assembly lube and Special Lube 1010 or 2-4-C mixed together, not to be confused with water intrusion. This stuff has the consistancy of something alot heavier than just oil. if I had bad seals, wouldnt it be leaking oil out also? Please help out here before I break it down for nothing.
