A true labor of love. It's my oldest motor and was such fun to restore. Completely disassembled, cylinder honed, everything polished plus a lot of detail work. Had to cut a hole in the gas tank to straighten it out from the inside then welded the cut out piece back in. Had to hand make the starting handle out of an oak dowel. Has good spark and good compression so no doubt it will run although I don't put gas in my restored motors. Gums em up. I like to keep them as new, oil the cylinders periodically and turn them over.
This is my third completed resto since July of last year. This one took the longest due to all the detail work. Plus I had to track down one carb top adjustment screw which took awhile. (Thanks Doug Penn)

I'm very proud of how it turned out. DSC_6598.jpgDSC_6632.jpgDSC_6613.jpgDSC_6580.jpgDSC_6594.jpg

That is SO great! Love it.

How the heck do you resist the urge to see and hear it run? Just once? I couldn't...

Looks pretty cool, nice job. Do you have it in your living room, so you can look at it while you have a beer, sitting in your lazyboy?

Now I'm tempted to dust off my 1910, find a Hotshot battery and fire it up!

Looks great, I agree with JoLin, I'd have to run it. Do you have any before pics? I'd like to see what you started with.

Yes I took pics of the whole process from tear down to rebuild. Looks like we're limited to 5 pics so I'll post a series for those that are interested. $(KGrHqFHJBcE+N1!PWidBQII,7mNt!~~60_57.jpg$T2eC16JHJIQE9qUHrWZ(BQII,honqQ~~60_57.jpg$T2eC16NHJG!E9nm3o)ySBQIIboGwwQ~~60_57.jpg9.jpg11.jpg

DSC_5265.jpgA few more. A couple tricks I use when working on the motors or gas tanks. I use radiator hose clamps for piston ring compressors, they work perfectly. The gas tanks, many times I cut out a panel, pound out the dents and reweld the panel back in. For leaded joints this will also require either resoldering the joints or an internal tank sealer. Getting closer. Of course I am shortening the process by skipping lots of pics. I took hundreds. The picture of the wood piece is of the starting handle which I carved out on my grinder by spinning it. Then drilled it to fit the new center screw, hand sanded and cut it off the dowel. Took all of about 30 minutes to make. DSC_5473.jpgDSC_5528.jpgDSC_5535.jpgDSC_5566.jpg
