Re: My trailering days are over

We bought ours when the kids were young and now with my kids (20, 19, 17,13) getting older, they all still enjoy and anticipate coming up. When they start going to college and doing their own things, working, etc, it is nice to have something you all come together for and can spend quality time.

One thing we did when we bought ours is to make it a technology free zone. Gameboys, phones, etc get left in the car. We have no TV or internet. this forced them to go outside and do things or to do things together like play games, etc. Not a choice for everyone, but it worked well for us.

Cool. You are abiding by the adage, "He who dies with most toys wins." :D and "you only live once." :D Just don't spend all your time working on the place, like a lot of cabin owners do!!! ENJOY!

Exactly. And hire a dependable guy to do your lawn too..........;)

Well we ended up closing last Wednesday a couple days early. The place is great, was owned by a wealthy family and so everything is in the house is high end. They left close to 15k worth of furniture and stuff in the house and even left a book among the dozens about how affluent families should raise their kids which we laughed at. They are a known, affluent family we discovered. There must be 40 Andersen Windows, Toto toilets that even have vacuum assist. It has a security system that has all sorts or crazy functions that I need to figure out. We had the inlaws stay over one night and it worked out great since they have their own section and bathroom. Our biggest issue is that we want to change out two of the ceiling fans but the ceilings are so tall we'll need to bring in someone with scaffolding which is a pain. We hated to leave but wanted to get back so the kids have a day at home before school starts.
