Us??
Whoah just a minute Buck Rogers....grammatical faux-pas notwithstanding, I've been a "lake-person" for my entire life, 50+ years, and have never been "secretly jealous" of ocean people. Quite the opposite.
You should speak for yourself, and if that is the case, you might be better off with a time-share on the Gulf.:D

Ha, I always thought the feeling was shared mutually by all of us land locked folks. I see the pics people post on here from their ocean rides and I can't help but feel like I will live on or very near the ocean some day. I'm also a scuba diver and so those pics always get me as well. As it turns out my parents live on the ocean in Hawaii (and they summer at their lake place in MN)...well overlooking it from a block away... My solace is that there Hawaii properties will belong to me some day but it is the most impractical place to vacation IMO.

As for the snowmobiling, the funny thing is that although I live in a large suburb, it is the last suburb on the map then there is a hard line where there are only farms. The groomed trail system is literally right up the street from me so I'm betting we don't do too many trips to the new place in the winter for snowmobiling unless it snows there and not at home.

Nope, I'd much rather be on a lake than the ocean.

As for the snowmobiling - you need to snowmobile from the house to the lake place ;)

I've never gone that far but I'm sure the trails could get me there. The ride out anywhere is always a good time. It's the ride back that is a chore.

Here's a pic from the lake side. It was a pretty crappy day when I took it so it's a bit dark.

+1 Hate the ocean and the thought of making my boat run in salt water, as for being land locked I guess I don't have that promblem because I boat on Lake Erie so you go a couple miles off shore it feels like you are on the ocean just without the salt water to corrode every single part of your boat.

Dad, I like the pics of the new house, but I really need the keys and the address! I am beginning to feel that you don't love me any more ... you never email or call, and now no keys and no address. What did I do, Dad, to deserve this treatment????;);):beguiled:

PS My wife says I act 12 all the time ... and you have never been in to visit your grandkids, or you great grandkid. When you coming for a visit? (To bring the keys ...)

Thanks a lot. As much as it pains me to say, I'm excited to add a pontoon and waver runner to the fleet maybe next season.

Cool. You are abiding by the adage, "He who dies with most toys wins." :D and "you only live once." :D Just don't spend all your time working on the place, like a lot of cabin owners do!!! ENJOY!

I hope not. Mostly just decorating and a bit of landscaping to start off I'm thinking. It came completely furnished with 6 new beds and a set of bunk beds, tons of bedding, complete dining room, kitchen mostly stocked with utensils and things, bar stools, living room furniture, various tables, three TV's, tv stands, deck furniture, stereo system, dvd player and on and on. Basically a complete house so we won't need to buy anything luckily.

nice place! With that much shoreline and land, I would consider a marine railway ahead of a boat lift. Depends on your needs and slope/ people to carry it though. and ice push. I'm fortunate my tracks can stay in all winter.

Some just like the look of a lift too.

Thanks. Really the only time I see the railways are for smaller boats and they are generally really, really old rail systems going into old school boat houses. You haven't been allowed to build a boat house on the shore for decades. In a perfect world, I'd love something like that but it's going to be a lift with a canopy for us.

Thanks much. Closing is on Friday.
