Never pulled for Joey as hard as I just did. Do hope Denny is ok. Was some good racing at the end though.

Hope Denny is ok, but that was some good racing at the end, I think Tony was a little out of line, getting blocked is just part of the game.

Tony was faster on the restart and Joey blocked him, I am with Tony on this,(even though he is guilty of the same in the past) if you are slower get out of the way, not intentionally in the way. Not too many drivers like Joey and he hasn't turned out to be sliced bread just yet. :D

On that particular restart, there really was not to many places he could go!

Re: NASCAR - Fontana

I just finished watching the race recording, Fox showed Lagano as the winner just as Jr was crossing the finish for second.

Joey screwed up twice IMO. I think a couple guys will be looking for him in the next race or two.

I see a Nascar fine in the near future for Smoke. Hope Hamlin's back is okay.

Rowdy was in the right place at the right time.

All I have to say is Wow!! Sorry Don, I can't believe it but I was actually pulling for Joey. I am going to watch the replay, but it is a rare day that Jr. is the best Hendrick car. I guess the #5 was good too, but so weird to see the 24 and 48 miss it like that. Maybe the replay will learn me sumpin'

I have never had so much fun at a race!! The last 50 laps or so were simply awesome.

End of the race and Logano is supposed to move over because a faster car wants to get thru??? Never happen. Tony would have done the same thing if the cars were reversed. Every driver would. I don't blame Joey one bit and Tony was way out of line at the end of the race. Maybe Tony realized what an idiot he was once the adrenaline quit pumpin'. BTW, I'm a Tony fan.........:)

I see Denny has a L1 compression fracture. Not sure what that will mean for him in 2 weeks. I guess if it had to happen, having 2 weeks off should help. As far as Shrubby making the sweep, it sounds like we can blame QC..:p Very cool you were at the race, QC! Burton, well.....:grumpy:

Re: NASCAR - Fontana

blocking is as much a part of racing as rubbing is. Tony was wrong, just wanted to look like a blowhard.

I actually thought Hamlin and Joey raced each other really well and really hard for the finish. I though Hamlin would just go after him but he didn't. Was a great finish to watch, except for the injury. Hopefully it will turn out to e very minor.

Sorry to hear Denny has a fracture, it can be a challenge, hope he is up and around quickly. As far a the Tony/Joey situation, Tony handled it wrong.

Tony IS a blowhard. I just watched the replay and jeez. Way out of line. Punches, threats, reporter and cameraman abuse. I have had a serious issue with him since he fired Darian Grubb. I also like that Joey is standing up for himself.

Great weekend. You just can't beat the infield experience. We ended up hanging with friends near the end of the backstretch. Had a really good view there, and had the big scoring monitor and jumbo tron thing right in front of us too, so it was easy to keep track of stuff. I decided against scanners this trip and I tried streaming the MRN radio cast through my phone, but cell service on Sunday was just impossible. I did that on Saturday and it worked well. I actually think I like that better than the scanner. Scanner is too distracting and you really can't understand much of it anyway, so I think I'm done with those. I'm thinking now that a little pocket radio would do the trick. The little ear buds were perfect and so much more comfortable than the bulky headsets that come with the scanners. I'm not sure why they haven't converted to the ear buds. Way better and I could hear the broadcast and the cars at a decent balance.

Glad you was there, JB. Nothing like the feel, smell, and excitement of a race track. Been to alot of 'em....That one looks like a great venue!

Not a big Tony fan and WAY less of a Joey fan, but the view I remember is Logano down low worried about Tony while 3, 4 and 5 lanes up, cars were taking off. I tried to find a few pics of the restart to make my point with no luck.

The cool thing is that we can all share our opinions.

I figured you were hiding from the thread for the same reason I have had to.

Man, I hope they put Elliot Sadler in the 11. No way that Denny is going to race. They are talking minimum of a back brace or surgery. Either way he can't flippin' be moving around at all.
