Vickers out rest of year because of blood clot. MWR cutting Truex and dropping to 2 teams. The most innocent one. Of the bunch gets dump ... Just doesn't seem right.

Re: NASCAR news

This is a recurring medical problem for Vickers. Hope he gets over it. Dropping teams/personnel is directly caused by NAPA dropping out, which is MWR's own fault.

Re: NASCAR news

bad stuff going on at MWR...

I know where I hope Martin Truex lands, Denver is a nice place these days....

Vickers deal just sucks, I hope he recovers and gets back in the seat.

Re: NASCAR news

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be at MWR these days. It is a bummer when you get caught ... and the innocent ones have to pay the price. Part of me says, what is a team for? But then again, it is not laying down, but it is for blocking or racing ... that is my $0.02 anyway. I have a feeling they may loose more sponsors till it is all said and done ...

Re: NASCAR news

Losing NAPA was the kiss of death for the Truex team @MWR. 5 Hour said they were staying with Bowyer, but I think some of the minor sponsors have dropped out, that's money that makes a big difference. nascar ain't a cheap date!

Re: NASCAR news

He can find a better job even if it's not behind the wheel. I don't think he needs to jump at the first offer. Especially if it's from MWR. I "really" can't see him going over there...... Totally out of character for him. He always takes the high ground which is above MWR..... Just one man's opinion...... :)

Re: NASCAR news

Burton worked with Clint and Scott Miller. I read that he had a deal cooking, and possibly MWR related, but I assumed it was full time. I'd be disappointed if it wasn't full time.

Re: NASCAR news

When he said last week he had a deal going, but couldn't say anything yet, I was thinking Furniture Row to replace Big Shrub. Now I'm seeing that Truex is talking to FR.

I guess we all find out Daytona in February. :ranger:waiting for news. LOL

Can't wait that long, FRR needs this to happen ASAP, hopefully Martin Truex does too, I think it would be a great fit class guy and easily someone I can root for. No worries with Burton either but I want to see a younger driver who can grow with this team and do it with class, every time I hear Kurt Busch whine on the radio I want to punch him in Edit: the mouth.

Re: NASCAR news

Now MWR needs to fill Vicker's seat for the rest of the season. And also his Gibbs Nationwide seat.......

I was listening to NASCAR radio today and they had **** Breggren on. He was suggesting that NASCAR have 2 - 3 predetermined cautions throughout the race to bunch up the field and have extra restarts because they're exciting to watch. I thought we already have them, it's called phantom debris cautions....... Lol To me it sounds like a really bad idea...........

Re: NASCAR news

I actually like that ^^^^^ Hear me out before flaming me, then rock on

IMHO it is good to keep more cars on the lead lap. Since the beginning for me I have followed drivers that are in danger of being lapped. Ward and Jeff Burton (Ward fan when Jeff was legit championship contender), and Blaney. That's been it for me. I know what it is like to beg for a Caution. Race in, Race out. Happens around 100 - 150 miles  This is the same reason I like the Lucky Dog, and LOVED the old rule, but it was unsafe. Good for fans, good for Sponsors. (there is a counter argument that the excitement I get begging for Cautions and then actually getting one would be weakened)

Also, NASCAR needs TV, and TV struggle without natural spots for commercials. No other National sport misses live action for commercials. Good for TV, Good for Fans, Good for Sponsors.

NASCAR needs Sponsors. NASCAR needs fans and TV to get Sponsors interested. I think it helps the sport.

Yes, you've heard this same line before when I defended the Chase. I stand by both.

And, old schoolers, you should be hanging at your local track. That action is more what you crave I think. Right? Wrong? Maybe?

Re: NASCAR news

I just read how you had it, Lipp..... Like that wasn't going to get edited.......:faint2::D

Don't get me wrong I love cautions, for wrecks, blown engines, spin outs etc........ Not for debris that even the announcers can't find or forced cautions if they're mandatory. I would put debris and mandatory cautions in the same category. It may help everyone................. except the fans, IMO...............

ps. I don't mind the Chase, I actually kinda like it....... No doubt, going to the local track, especially dirt, there is a lot of action..... Had my daughter going last year and she loved it. Now she wants to go to 'Dega like ma and dad have done a handful of times.....
