Re: NASCAR news

Dirt track racing is the best. Best bang for the buck. Local track has a night of Saturday racing for 7 bucks. Raised to a ten spot when they run a special big purse race. A great way to spend a warm summer evening. They don't use plates either!

Re: NASCAR news

I love love love plate racing. I liked it when they had drag bars on the roof too. I love Talladega and Daytona. I find it exciting when they are all bunched up like that. White knuckles and luck. As far as cautions go, I think Nascar jumps the gun on a lot of them. Unless there is a big ole hood laying on the track, let it be. If a car spins out but gets out of the way and no one else is involved, let it be. It's my opinion that NAPA over reacted. I do believe that Bowyer could have been disciplined, then let it go. All kind of things in racing. Just that most don't get caught. So there.....(We don't have pennies in Canada anymore, so that is my nickles worth.):D:D

WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!

Martin Truex Jr. agrees to join Furniture Row Racing team in 2014 - NASCAR News | FOX Sports on MSN

Martin Truex Jr. has agreed to drive the No. 78 Furniture Row Chevrolet in 2014.

Sources say the parties came to terms on Wednesday night. A formal announcement is expected next Tuesday.

In his eighth year as a full-time Sprint Cup driver, Truex has spent the past four seasons running the No. 56 NAPA Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing. He is a two-time Nationwide Series champion.

However, MWR’s manipulation of the outcome of the Sept. 7 race at Richmond International Raceway and subsequent sanctions from NASCAR resulted in NAPA’s decision to part ways with the organization at the end of the season. MWR announced Monday that the company would move on with only two full-time teams for 2014.

Truex, 33, has two career Sprint Cup wins — the most recent coming June 23 at Sonoma Raceway. He has qualified for the Chase twice and is 16th in this season’s points standings.

Hopefully they can make this an extended contract before too long, Kid is a great young man!!

Re: NASCAR news

Truex seems to a quiet guy. Now I know why he clams up. :) Good reading, QC.

Re: NASCAR news

Lipp is happy that one of his faves will be gone from FR soon. :D

Nice to have a little class back on the team!!

I wish Kurt Busch the best, but I think MTJ is a much better fit for this team, Can't wait for next year!!

Re: NASCAR news

I can't believe Todd Parrot. We was, in my opinion, the best crew chief back in the Dale Jarrett days...

Re: NASCAR news

NASCAR is starting fall like other professional sports as far as participants not keeping their nose clean, no pun intended. Or, maybe it was....

Sadler to take over Vickers Cup seat for the rest of the season....

Trucks going back to Eldora next year.....

Heard about this too awhile back...

Kvapil charged with assault UPDATE3: Police in Mooresville, NC say a NASCAR driver has been arrested and charged with assault after getting into a dispute with his wife. According to the Mooresville Police Department, officers were called to the home of Travis Wade Kvapil, 37, on Tuesday evening after getting a 911 call. Officers say Kvapil, who is currently the driver of the #93 Burger King / Dr. Pepper Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series, and his wife had been involved in a domestic dispute. Kvapil drives for BK Racing, with teammate #83-David Reutimann. BK Racing posted a photo of Kvapil and Reutimann's race cars on Twitter around 1:00pm/et on Wednesday showing both cars with ribbons supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Awareness. That photo was pulled from Twitter after news of Kvapil's arrest broke.(WBTV)(10-9-2013)

UPDATE: The team [BK Racing] told Sporting News it had no comment yet on the incident. Kvapil has been released from custody, according to a state offender database. NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said the sanctioning body has no comment at this time with the matter in the hands of legal authorities.(Sporting News)(10-10-2013)

His next court date will be Nov. 19, according to Iredell County (N.C.) District Court records obtained Thursday morning by the Sporting News. Kvapil, 37, and his wife, Jennifer, have three children.(Sporting News)(10-10-2013)
UPDATE3: BK Racing has opted to stand behind Travis Kvapil and allow the driver to remain behind the wheel of the #93 Toyota this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. "After discussions with NASCAR and the Kvapil family, BK Racing has elected to support Travis and his family," co-owner Ron Devine told FOX Sports on Thursday. "It's the right thing for Travis and his family to let the system take its course. He has the ability to set aside the issues and focus, and he's prepared to race this weekend."(FoxSports)(10-10-2013)

NASCAR Statement Regarding Travis Kvapil: "NASCAR does not condone the actions with which Travis Kvapil has been charged and we are disappointed to learn of this incident. NASCAR takes this matter very seriously and will continue to monitor the situation as it moves forward."(NASCAR)(10-10-2013)

Statement from BK Racing: The following is a statement from BK Racing regarding the allegations against driver Travis Kvapil: "BK Racing understands the severity of the situation and we don't condone the actions that Travis has been accused of," commented Ron Devine, co-owner of BK Racing. Further comment will be available as additional information becomes available."(BK Racing)(10-10-2013)

Re: NASCAR news

He is lucky that's a Felony here in Colorado with the DV enhancer.

States do things differently though, seems both states hold to court on DV's though that's nice, other then the false imprisonment is accurate for both states, but I wonder what the argument was about, not that it matters...

Re: NASCAR news

GA, you deleted the last quote bracket somehow. I just up that back in to make the quote a quote instead of seeing the words "quote" and "unquote". Just a little housekeeping!
