When the seller demonstrated it starting for me, she had it hooked up to a 12 volt car battery so I assume it's converted? Hasn't exploded, caught fire or done whatever having the wrong battery might make it do, yet!

Also, if you look at that one picture of the front of it, there's been some obvious "tinkering" done. The added plate has, from left to right: toggle switch for a fuel pump that was added to the gas tank (I don't use that tank, I use an old one with a bulb), the start button, then a in/out switch that has to be pushed in before trying to start it. It's not the choke, I guess it's just an on/off switch but I would have thought that pulling it out would be "on" but that's not how it's wired. I want to hook it up to a control box and get rid of all that stuff on the plate and also need to be able to have that area free so I can hook up the cable steering. My former neighbor is a "boat guru" and he's agreed to come and take a look at it for me, hopefully this weekend if it isn't still a miserable 105 degrees out!
