I love this website and I believe there are very knowledgeable people that browse through the links so I want to post this question on what you think I should do or be compensated for.
Last year I bought a 2006 Proline 21 Center Console with a Venture trailer and Suzuki Engine all rigged from a dealer. This year while I was waxing my boat and taking care of it like any other responsible boater would I noticed stress cracking around the front two rollers of my trailer(6-8 inches long). I knew this wasn't right so I inspected under there some more and noticed that where all the rollers came in contact with the boat there were indents because from what I believed was too much weight. I contacted my dealer and took it back and he told me today that after inspecting the boat that Venture trailers recommended the wrong trailer for my boat and its weight. The dealer also said that they didn't see any stress cracking but I believe that was because they had the boat suspended in the air so the stress was off the hull where it normally would be when on the trailer.
They said they will replace the rollers with bunks and fix a few more problems with the trailer for me but they said they found no structural damage to the boat. Now I know there is two nice cracks in the hull that are more then just a few mm deep. I am worried that after a year of being on a trailer that was too small and after many hundreds of miles being pulled down the road that there might be a possibility of damage. Am i wrong about this? I would hate to not say anything and then a few years from now have an unrepairable boat or something that I couldn't get rid of. I take so much good care of this boat and paid many dollars that I don't want to get screwed. What would you guys do? Any type of comment would be appreciated. Sorry that this post was so long!
