Like all boats, the motor is what makes it, if it doesn't run, nobody wants it. I'm seeing 260 hours on the speedometer instead of the 134 being listed. Its on a dealer lot and they were posting many boats and get the postings mixed up. The 260 looks better then the 134 and works out to about 20 hours a season and probably the last two its been sitting on the lot.

The Monterey is the lest expensive market line. No extras to speak of, and the finish is not up to par with higher or middle end boats.
The trailer looks to be made for a smaller boat because it appears to barely fit. This is not an issue so long as long hauls are not in store. Bottom line, if it runs and checks out will probably give you some years of fun before you sell it because your hooked, of sell it because you don't want to play on the water anymore

Monterey is similar in quality and reputation to Four Winns, Larson, and Crownline. So it is worth a look.

Well, I said that, but I don't really like where the bow eye is in relation to the bow roller and winch strap.

My comment comes from not clearly seeing the rear bunks at the transom. The trailer looks to be bare minimum trailer design (cheap) for a 21 footer

If that trailer is a magic tilt, I have the same trailer with a21 ft /3200 lb dry sea ray. It may be bare bones, but it rides really nice, zero sway and is real easy to launch and retrieve. That photo looks like more boat than mine, but above boat on a 5600 lb trailer works well. My rear bunks come past the transom when the baits all the way up.

The Monterey's of that era were actually decent boats. I feel like it wasn't more than a couple years though when they modernized them a bit. Gotta get the story on the hours because there must be some sort of story with the irregularity. Gauge shows twenty six point zero hours. Only because it is 2017 and they are so plentiful now but that is a TPI engine not a 2002 or newer MPI engine. That engine only lasted another model year and was discontinued in favor of the MPI fuel injection system producing some decent additional HP.

I zoomed in and looks like 26.0, not 260?

Hi All - me again looking at a 1999 Crownline 225 CCR. Appears to be in really good shape and well maintained. 5.7 EFI mercruiser (anyone know horsepower?) with stainless steel prop. Dry weight is 3,800 pounds according to NADA. Seems like the 5.7 EFI engine should move it along quite well. The owner will send me pictures of the stern drive/transom when he gets it out of storage. Any and all input is appreciated. Thank you.
