Re: NFL - Week 9

Might wanna check our home record on MNF

Yea, but I will be at the game ... first NFL game in attendance ... so that could be bad mojo. It won't be over till the fat lady sings. As for running back, I would not consider either Dwyer or Redman anything but 1st stringers. Mendenhall, well, you can have him, I prefer the back-ups because they run harder and with more determination.

Wow a Steelers player on iboats? Cool!

I wouldn't be so bold as to call any NFL game a "bye". After all, the Stillers already lost to Oakland. St. Louis isn't a bad team, really. And the Chiefs beat the Saints, who everyone says isn't bad.

Absolutely my point.

Yuup I remember Big Daddy and his very short career with the Steelers. My uncle played way before his time, At Forbes Field. Played with Jim Finks.

No way you can jinx them. The MNF record speaks for itself. The fat lady is warmed up. Yes we lost raiders and titans, which were flukes on the road.

I heard the game on radio. Bet it looked as bad as it sounded.

While I appreciate that your uncle played on the team YEARS ago, until you have a paycheck with "The Pittsburgh Steelers" listed as "Employer", or your last name is Rooney, you are NOT part of the team. You are a fan, just like me.
Being obnoxiously overconfident is what gives fans of any team a bad name. The Steelers are playing much better than earlier in the season, but by no means are they dominant or the best team in the league.
Aspeck, I agree about "backups" playing harder. Mr. Dwyer runs like he's mad or has a really big mortgage balloon payment due!

LOL! Ain't that the truth! His style is reminiscent of "The Bus", but I think he is running HARDER and with more determination than even The Bus ever did. Fun to watch. Redman is just a nice mix of power and finesse. Mendenhall reminds me of Franco Harris in his later years, would rather run out of bounds, or fall down, than run over someone for an additional yard or two.

Wheels on the bus go round and round...round and round...
Was at a dinner years ago with dwight white, franco and darren perry, Franco actually spoke how running out of bounds added 5 years to his career. Just wish it would've only added 4 yrs because it was tough seeing him play for the sea chickens.
