Captain Stupid hit a sand bar in the middle of a lake...(did not know about the draw down on the resevoir ) The next day it revved a bit higher than normal before clunking into forward gear. That was the last time the boat went forward on its own power. I still had reverse so I backed all the way to my slip on the other side of the lake. Question is, I removed the lower unit and now have to decide if it is worth trying to repair? Or should I search for a replacement? I only have about $1,200 into the boat and if it costs more than $500 to repair I may have to sell it for salvage. I have two mercruiser books that are pretty much worthless. I can fabricate any tools I may need, I just don't want to waste a bunch of time trying to fix a POS or taking it apart if no parts are available. Thanks in advance for any info.
