Hi guys. Thanks for all the great info on this site. It's saved me many times.

I've read all the post regarding oil injection. This question is a little different. I purchased a boat with a '93 Pro V 150. I purchased it from a broker who didn't know the history of the boat. For testing, he was pre-mixing the oil for safety. My idea of checking the injection was to run it with pre-mix for a little while and see if the oil level dropped in the tank. I've run 10+ gallons with no change in the level. I went to check the tank on the motor a little further and found it was full of water! The large tank in the bilge had about 2" of water at the bottom and was full to the top with oil. I drained it all out and added oil to the big tank. The pump filled the motor tank as it's supposed to when I turned the key on.

My question is how do I tell if the injection has been disconnected? Should I be able to see a blanking plate on motor? I can only assume that I would have had a major problem if water had mixed with the fuel. Again, the motor runs flawlessly with the pre-mix. The electonics still monitor the oil and sound the alarm if the float bottoms out. I'm wondering if the oil injection is just broken and I got lucky by the water not mixing or if a previous owner disconnected the injection. Any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nathan
