Water in the block can still freeze and crack the block ,hoses containing water can burst, battery can go dead and pump wont work.
Any one of these can SINK THE BOAT

If you are South of Miami, probably very little.
This Year, and anywhere north of Atlanta, the problems would be similar as not feeding your kids over the winter.

Where are you located?
Hint: Read the note Below.

Yup, i'm in NY.
I paid the marina to dry dock my boat. have the contract signed and everything.
A friend of mine told me my boat was sitting outside. I called the marina owner and he told me that he couldn't find the key to my boat...
So that's my situation. may be looking at a rebuild.
Its a mercruiser 3.7

3.7 is a FWC motor, the infamous 470. comes filled with regular auto A/F for cooling.End caps of the heat exchanger are most likely popped(slightly cone shaped, just hammer flat)

+1 I can't beleive any marina in the business of storing boats over winter would hoist em in the air and not drain em.. hence the reason for paying someone else to do it......... what's the damage in not draining? LOTS! should you be concerned.. no..

I am wonder how it was winterized without running the motor?
You could drain it and top fill it, but that leaves some items like the power steering and fuel cooler still filled with water on some engines.

Didn't the marina call the owner for the keys back in the fall?
Didn't the owner check that the boat was actually stored for the winter a few weeks after dropping it off?
If it fell through the cracks, and was just forgotten about, and left in a corner of the yard for the winter,
that would have been an easy thing to find out before the snow fell.
