Recently had 100 service on Yam FS250. After the work was done, I noticed that the oil pressure reading on the command link gauges is maxed out. Cold, Hot, Idle, WOT, doesn't matter. Oil pressure bars are maxed. It used to read right in the middle. Dealer says it's normal for the pressure to be high. Boat seems to run fine, doesn't overheat, nothing.

Is he feeding me a line of bull? What unknown damage could I be doing to the motor? What could cause the pressure to be that high?

See pic. Tac gauge, 3rd symbol down.

It seems that they may have knock or left loose a wire?
If it read in the middle prior to the visit, it was something that happened while they worked on it.
Check for a possible loose connection from the oil pressure sending unit or wire harness.

I agree. Will check out the connection at the oil pump and harnesses. Thanks for the reply.

Scott, you hit the nail right on the head. I removed the cowling, located the oil filter and, sure enough, I saw a female connector missing her mate. Never saw that last time I had the cowling off.

Any way, the male connector was wrapped under some other wires. Because it was black and most of the engine background is black, it blended right in.

The dealer must have forgotten to plug the sensor back in. I know it didn't rattle off because it was wrapped under the other wires.

Anyway, dropped it in the water, ran it and the gauge reported correctly.

Thanks for the tip.:D
