omc seadrive midsection swap

Hi all, great place to learn .A friend of mine has a 1984 230 hp sea drive s/n j332336 and the midsection needs to be replaced .What mid section would fit the powerhead.I have a 1989 175 v6 crossflow mid section would that match up to the powerhead,it has the bubble back exaust as does the seadrive.Or i have a 1984 or 1985 crossflow flatback exaust.any help would be Great thanks JD

There was no 230 hp Sea Drive. We really need the model number to figure out what you (he) have. A 1984 would be a crossflow but we need to be sure.

We need to verify that number. All the 2.6 liter Sea Drives, what youre calling a 235, have 1AA** model numbers or 26AHCXKW. The 1CCXCO and 1CCXCR models are 2.5's.

If its a V6 cross w/bb ex then its a 2.6. The outboard mid section thats the same is a 78-85 235 or a 86-91 175 cf.
