Good morning.
First I have to start by saying I can't believe the amount of information and knowledge I have gained from the members on this forum. I am truly grateful to all of you that contribute.
Now that I have a good understanding of the work I need to do to my boat I have my first questions:happy:
I own a 1984 Conroy (Glastron) X17 3.0 I/O Mercruiser drive. I have owned the boat for over 20 years and love it. I will be replacing the transom, floor and stringers in the next few weeks. Bottom of transom is rotted along with stringers and parts of the floor throughout boat. Here is my question.
1. Once I remove the motor and before I strip off the floor and stringers should I remove the boat from the trailer and support it at each edge of the transom and one point at the bow? The boat is currently on an all roller Yacht Club trailer. I am not removing the cap. I am concerned about removing the stringers and deforming the hull. What do you recommend?
Thanks in advance for you advice?
