Sounds great! Good luck with it. Check into an atv winch in case you get stuck in the mud. That $ you saved would be more than enough for a good brand.

Good for you. Sounds like an interesting place to hunt and a fun way to get there.

Good luck to you on your purchase. I am fully aware of the incredible Anderson Tully timber operations. They used to have 100,000+ acres north of Memphis accessible only from the river, and wild boar from East Tennessee were introduced to the lands. The boar have bred with the local pigs, and feral pigs are still running local farmers crazy.

As was mentioned, you might consider purchasing a winch for your UTV. I prefer to mount the winch on 2" receivers and put a hitch on each end of the rig. Universal receiver hitches are available at Northern Tool and other sources online. You might want to make sure you have tow straps and folding shovels as a backup. If you have any problems getting stuck, the next step is buying a set of deep lug mud tires just for the hunting season.

Bamaman, I've been hunting this same lease for since I was 5 years old with Pop. I remember when the only way to hunt the lease was by boat from Steele Bayou or horse. I'm 54 now and the same club still has the lease.

I equipped this cart with a top, folding windshield and a winch before it ever left the dealership. I'll put different tire on it when the ones that came on it wear out.

We saw our first feral hog on the lease 3 years ago. Now they are a commonn sight. We kill every one we see if we can...even the piglets if its a sow with babies. There is no closed season on hogs here in MS. They are worse than rats or feral cats as far as reporduction goes and way more destructive.

Congrat's!

I've heard and seen the hog issues, especially in the South.

Do you eat them?

Fleetwin, you can eat the hogs. They're a pain in the rear to dress if you aren't equipped for it. I've killed and dressed a couple and had them proccessed in to sausage and its pretty good. However, I wont be doing any more because they aren't THAT good, they carry a number of parasites and diseases that can transmit to humans and its really not worth the headache.
