Re: Paranormal

not far from where i once lived is the 'patty cannon house'.. patty was a mean ole women who could arm wrestle any man..an known to throw many a man down by his hair..

her house,, straddled the mason dixon line. half was in delaware.. half in maryland.. an other rooms were in different md counties..

patty would kidnapp free black folk hold 'em in the attic sometimes for months.. untill she had a 'load' ... an march alittle walk to the nantikote river.. to an awaitin' schooner..

she go along ..as it would sail down river to the chesapeake bay an on down to georgia.. to sell them into slavery..

some parished along the way.. but many also parished in the long wait in the attic where the summer's heat an winter's cold,, along with patty's sadistic treatment was unbearable..

people always reported screams commin' from the house.. an when the authorities came.. patty would just go to the part of the house not of their jurisdiction.. an escape capture..

finally ,, a co-ordinate effort from all jurisdictions came at once.. an arrested patty.. an took her to jail in georgetown delaware... where she killed herself promptly.. by poison she had under her dress...

many a sighting is had at the old house ,today..

Re: Paranormal

I would guess a niblet is like Col Clucks chicken nuggets.
I accept a grit is corn meal - no worries.
But what is Corn Meal? is it sort of like porridge made out of ground up corn kernels, and deep fied so it looks like a battered potatoe scollop?
When lining up for breakfast at LZ English, being the only non American there I didn't say too much - but did ask the guy behind me what we would get . He said, "the sh*t on a brick" is pretty good here".
I didn't say another thing, and when my turn came, I couldn't understand one word the cook asked me, so just said yes to everything.
I had never seen a scrambled egg scrambled the way he scrambled it, infact it didn't even look like an egg he started with.
When I got to this cold chest, this guy behind me said "take one of those, do you want egg nog or choc (or something like that). I replied "I dunno, I'll have the same as you".
It turned out to be milk in some sort of carton, flavoured. I had only ever had milk in a billy or a bottle, never flavoured.
I seem to recal the guys name on his shirt was Dudde or something, can't remember the exact spelling. He sure helped me out that day.
So what is this grit thing.
Cheers
Phillip

Re: Paranormal

I will help to explain it to you Kenneth Brown..................you are crazy. I know, 'cause i'm crazy. :p

I will be serious for a moment. I have walked through graveyards at night,.......I have visited houses that were supposed to be haunted, (local legend), ..............I have been miles back in the woods with no flashlight, ........I have been in every possible scenario where contact with the "paranormal" could possibly happen,.......and nothing happened.

My explanation is this, the Brain is a facinating organ, ......if you can convince your brain that something is real, even though it is imagined, then your brain will think it is real. Because I don't believe in the "paranormal", I do not experience any sort of "paranormal" activity.
I have been many places, at night no less, that many people would never venture because they believe in the "paranormal", yet, I have experienced nothing.

So, in closing, in my opinion only, (just my opinion, so don't be upset with me), Its in your head.

......There Ladyfish, I gave a serious answer.......I hope your happy. :D

Re: Paranormal

carp makes a good point, perception is reality.
of course that doesn't explain the photo that GF
origionally posted. his brain didn't project the
image on the film...
physics teaches that energy never disappears.

Re: Paranormal

Mellow, I am no photographer, but I am sure there are many things that could cause the little squiggly light to appear in that picture.

I have taken many pictures in my life, that when developed had odd things in them. Do I believe that these odd things were paranormal............Heck no, I believe the minimum wage kid in the Wal-mart photo department messed up during the development process. ;)

......and why would a camera pick-up something that the human eye can't see?

Grits...

If your ever in New Orleans..theres a greasy spoon on the corner beside the Old court house. The grits there were the best I ever had....Big flaky and stiff  with a pond of red-eye gravy steaming perfectly on top. I think they were about 20 grit. :)

Sorry Carp steered me off topic...

Re: Paranormal

Hey GF,folks, that photo looks to me like it was taken while pointed down in the ice. The streamer looks like a piece of tall grass inbeded in the ice.

I'm not saying your trying the fool anyone.. its maybe that am not seeing what everyone else is? I mean SBN sees a wolf for crying out loud! ... I see ice w/ skating marks and a long piece of grass...maybe my parcial colored-blindness is screwing it up for me..

Where was this orb....what direction was the camera pointing when you took this....also if you didnt see the streamer how did you know to take the pic..was it noise or just a bad feeling? :)

Re: Paranormal

If you look at where I have drawn the circle like, you can see an outline of a dog's head.
Look toward the top and you can see it's ears.
Right in the middle you can see it's little eyes.
I know I can.
Maybe to much time with my little buddies, but I can see it.

Re: Paranormal

OddJob..This pic was taken at midnite and it was July..Its the flash from the camera that you see..
I took a total of 25 pictures during my stay and this was one of them.

It is the fear of the unknown which makes one skeptical about what one sees and wants to believe. There are hundreds of these picture in the shops around Gettysburg. Pics takn by normal folks as you.

If anyone has visited Gettysburg knows that their are many strange things that go on and around on that hallowed ground.

I put this pic up to show you through my camera what it saw. Yes images are everywhere on here..Its no different than formations of clouds that show certain things.

I take it oddJob you have never visited Gettysburg or you would know that some strange and unexplained events happen there.

The Yellow streak and the red eye is an entity or some kind of energy. Not my thoughts but those who live in Gettysburg and what they deal with everyday.

GF, no I havent been to Gettysburg....I asked alot of questions of you and my intent was only to gather more info or add to what you already said. I like spooky old historical places, forts,etc.. I may stop there on my way to Cumberland Falls this spring if I go.

Re: Paranormal

I remember hiking in a deep narrow canyon in the Golan Heights and we had to rope down a waterfall into a pond. The water was awfully cold.We decided to catch some fish so we threw some bread into the pond and soon enough some fish came to the surface to feed.I took my ak 47 and put a bullet in the middle of the slice of bread and sure enough, the impact of the bullet stunned the fish. However, the biggest one started sinking.I decided to swim out and get it I dove back into the water and just while reaching out for it I looked right into a helmeted skull. Then I saw the fish disappear between shreds of clothing and ribs sticking out of them. The soldier in me took over.I grabbed the dog tags and while trying to get them loose, the chain slipped through the spine and the head slipped a bit to the side.I also grabbed the rusty gun laying next to him, swam away and returned to the shore.I have never swam in colder water since.Nor will I ever forget this swim.It was eerie, silent and I felt that I was being watched.
I sent the dogtags to the red cross and a few years later I planted some purple irises there like the ones I had seen on the Syrian graveyards in the canyons around my house.I hope it brought him peace.
