Crestliners are good boats. The biggest thing you have to watch for is a leaking pontoon, then the deck. then the furniture and of course a running motor.

I have a crestliner that I turned into a triton. It is a very solid boat and 8 1/2 foot wide instead of 8. It has 23 inch pontoons, not 26's but not 19's either. It has a plywood floor that is still in good shape, no soft spots,(its a 1998). Plastic seat bases with drains, but the seats have been recovered. So far everything has held up well, and I am at least the 3rd owner. Mine stays in the water year round, and the aluminum seems thicker than some other pontoons I have seen. The back 1/3 also looked like it was underskinned from the factory, not sure about that though. I have underskinned it all at this point. I also live on a large lake and it handles waves fairly well.

Update!!

Drove to Arizona and bought a 2006 Sun Tracker Party Barge 21 with a 90 HP Mercury outboard.

Boat was in excellent condition and there were only 75 hours on the motor.

Cool. I think you'll enjoy it, Bruce. That's a very versatile size/motor combo.

Most of the ones I saw had 60s or 50s. Will be using this one at 6800 feet so needed the biggest motor I could find. Helps that it's fuel injected too.

We use ours for everything from cruising to tubing to outrunning a storm. At WOT (around 5800 RPMs) it's good for 25 mph while pulling a tuber, and that's with a weak cylinder (long story). I think you'll be really happy with yours.

With 4 people we got it up to 23 with around 5400 PM. With 2 people I was able to get up to 5800 RPM so we may have hit 25 then.

Wow that's nice. Is there a head/pop up privacy curtain on there? We are kicking around the idea of adding a pontoon to the fleet as well. 2006 is practically brand new in boat years.

Yes it has the pop up changing room in the back. We got a pretty fair deal on it. Will be stored next to my house during the winter which is my next project once I register it. DMV needs to see it since it is from out of state.

Nice...I never thought I'd see a pontoon and actually want one but the bowrider gets less and less practical each year. Our issue though is that then we'd also need another lift.

Nice Bruce. Like the double bimini tops. It's almost a requirement down here in the 95 + degree summers. BTW, our "head" contains a 5-gal bucket w/ universal snap on seat for the ladies. My wife swears by it. Have fun !!!

What days were you on the Parker strip Bruceb58. We pulled our Sun Tracker out on Sunday and came home on Monday. We were up and down from Blue water to the dam several times over the last 2 weeks. Hope you like you Party barge as much as we like ours.

We were on Parker on Sunday only. Launched at La Paz county park at around 8:00 or so and pulled out at 11:00. Had breakfast at Badenochs and then went up to the dam.

The room and comfort of a toon get addicting.
