Re: Post the most idiotic thing you have ever seen on a boat.
Been a lurker for awhile and decided to join in.
Background - We have a place at Lake of the Ozarks, across from a public boat ramp. LOTO is a large lake with over 1,200 miles of shore line and 120 miles of main channel and major arms.
What we have seen -
One, assumed to be new or prospective boat owner, was test driving a large go-fast boat. After returning, some how he got the bright idea that it would be easier to launch a boat if it was on the trailer with the stern to the truck. Sooo, he tried to back the boat on the trailer. His buddies or boat salesmen were yelling at him and waving their arms for him to stop. He didn't until the props hit the trailer.
We watched a truck come down the ramp and as he made the turn to launch his cuddy, we noticed that the boat & trailer was listing to one side. Then we noted that his 6 wheel trailer had only two tires on the right-hand side; both of them looking rather over stressed. As he tried to back down the ramp, he caught the right side trailer wheels on the concrete lane dividers. He moved up a bit and gave it another shot. This time the wheels went up the divider and as he pulled forward again, both wheels fell off. He calmly got out, threw the wheels in the pickup bed, got back in and rammed the trailer and boat into the water. He docked the boat and pulled the now scrapping trailer to a parking spot and left in his boat.
I now have a decent digital camera and hopefully will catch some these people in action.
