That's becasue you were using that ancient laptop! :)
Three years is ancient? Boy has Dell and Microsoft worked out a nice deal together! 2 year replacement cycle to keep up with their carp. I guess I should try FF on the new one, but was reading same complaints here and elsewhere. Again, digging the Pale Moon.

QC, gotta remember, "ancient" is a relative term when it comes to computer equipment!

The computer I'm posting this reply on is 12 years old. Does that count as ancient?

Not if YOUR satisfied with it. The one I'm posting this on is also 12 years old. It was old technology when I bought it for a song in 2002, Pentium 4HT. I use it as a Linux machine.

Just downloaded Pale Moon and migrated my FireFox profile. Seems pretty perky in comparison.

NYBo - did you install the 32 bit or 64 bit version. Just wondering as I'm running Win 7 64bit.

I am Win 7 64 bit, Pale Moon. This AM didn't seem to like Google Maps for some reason, but I will try and confirm that. I was running parallel with IE, and IE was noticeably better. Again, Google Maps alone. I was doing back to back searches for the same thing (place).

I installed the 32 bit version, because there are so many different applications that don't have 64 bit versions and guess what, Google maps is one of them. Just because you can run 64 bit, does not mean it is the best way to run something, it is going to take a while before everything is caught up to the modern world, I remember going from 16 to 32 bit and it took quite a while. The majority of the world is still running at a 32 bit level.
