I just received a note from Microsoft developers network stating they didn't think they would have the fix for IE for up to a month.
Wouldn't be the first time that MSDN had no idea what the OS folks were doing
Microsoft Security Advisory: Update for vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer: April 28, 2014
So how much memory usage is an issue? I use Firefox while I run circuit simulations all the time and I never have issues. The machine I am on right now has 8GB RAM and its an old 6 year old quad core machine. Right now Firefox is using 500MB which I agree is pretty high but I surely don't notice it affecting performance at all.I beg to differ Bruce, the machine I am typing this on which had the resource problems with FF is a Windows 8.1 Quad core 17.3 inch laptop running 8 gigs of memory and a 1 terabyte hard drive! The CPU and memory issues have been well documented for a few years now.
I agree with you on IE although there are certain websites that just don't work with Firefox.

Does it do that when you run FireFox in safe mode? Maybe just a bad extension or plugin. I have never had that issue on many machines.Actually the biggest problems with the versions of FF I have used for years has been the CPU resources, which after running for about an hour would continually spike in the 90% range and really slow things down a lot, I even disabled all plug ins as well as add on's and it still would spike very high, I am not seeing that with the browser I am using now, but as I said, high memory and CPU problems has been documented on FF for quite a long time now.
Out of curiosity, go to Chase.com and see what it looks like to you. I am running version 28. It's the website that didn't load properly for me.To add, I have never found a site what would not work with FF.

I just checked my other machine and it worked fine. My one at home also had issues with it. At least I know how to fix it now.
Also FWIW - the "IE" bug was not an IE bug. It is an Adobe bug and exists in their versions for Windows, Mac and Linux
You can get patches for whatever you are running.

That is what I said, the Flash bug has been well known for quite a while now.
There has been one after another and they just keep patching them. Latest update was yesterday.
That's becasue you were using that ancient laptop!Resource issues with FF seem to be well known. That's why I switched back to IE which almost made me puke. Funny thing is I am getting used to it and didn't miss FF much until I tried Pale Moon. I am kind of paralleling Pale Moon and IE now. If you like FF, you will love Pale Moon is my initial assessment.
