Just rebuilt my carbs today in order to correct an idle problem. http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=28;t=033508

Idle problem fixed, but while running the outboard outside my garage, I noticed that there was fuel leaking around the plastic float chamber area. Turns out both plastic float chambers were warped and did not seal properly.

So I called up the parts store to find out that there is an updated float chamber kit. (Too bad the part store guy didn't mention this the first time.) The new float chamber is made of cast aluminum; not cheap at all at $65.00 a pop.

So I come home with the new kits to find out that I'm not done yet. The new cast unit needs new intermediate orifices! (Parts guy never told me about this.) The instructions state "the the plastic float chamber has 1/4-20 thread intermediate orifices, and the new die cast part has #8-32 threads. Order and install replacement orifices with the same inside diameter (number size). To determine the part number of replacement orifice, refer to Carburetor Orifice Plug Chart, Section 1, or your sevice manual."

Like the typical plastic float chamber, the orificies where stuck in it. So I had to cut them out.

The intermediate orifice has 26C inscibed on it.
Does anyone know what the part number is for the new intermediate orifice, which has to have #8-32 threads, that I'll need?

I called my local parts guy and he didn't know and needed the consultation of his mechanics, which weren't working today.

As far as I know, there will be no 4th of July weekend boating trip for me.

Thanks ahead, if you know what part number I need.
