If your 3-blade prop has good grip a 4-blade won't improve much. Going down a couple of inches in pitch will, however.<br /><br />This said, you can't focus on pitch alone. Boat/motor setup, x-dimension and power/weight ratio has a lot to do with it.<br /><br />You have to define your problem before attempting to solve it. Your achieved rpm @ wot at current setup is a basic info that makes a starting point.<br /><br />To suit whatever you have in these respects, a certain prop can be chosen. 2, 3, 4, or 5 blades, alu, composite or stainless. Choppers, Rakers, Cleavers. Vent holes, blade designs, cupping and more are things to consider.<br /><br />You are welcome to check my homepage for a free booklet on the subject.<br /><br />Jim: If my memory serves me, your Fletcher is rated for 70 hp max so you're pretty close.
