Thanks.

I should add this too -

The Escape made me feel safe the whole time, felt strong, and for as far as I got pushed and as loud as the impact, there really is, what seems to be minimal damage.
Well, I got my Escape hit from behind by some idiot in a Neon. Totally messed up his front end. The hood was peeled back like a sardine can. My bumper cover was scuffed is all... so i thought. Took it to my body guy... there was $1800 damage. The inner bumper was destroyed. The undercarrage was pushed in. All that not visible to the naked eye.

And of course, the kid had no insurance.
KaGee - sorry to hear about that.

I've had my Escape hit twice from behind in the past (am I a magnet for this stuff?!?!).

I keep my trailer hitch on all the time just for that reason - it saves scratches on my bumper!

The first time it was a minivan in stop and go traffic. There was no damage to my Escape and who could tell with all the dings and dents in his front bumper.. That guy didn't have insurance though so the cops towed his van away.

The second time it was some idiot in an Escalade on his cell phone. He hit me hard enough to ride right up on the trailer hitch and put a small scuff mark on my bumper.

I tried to be a nice guy and let it go, but after a few days of thinking it over, and the guy being rude to me, I had his insurance buy me a new bumper and a hitch pin that got bent.
