I agree NOSLEEP, the name thingy just shows that you got more time on your hands than normal.

I withdraw my petition for harbor master and will remove it from my sign in name.

We have already lost a couple good members here over some political correct, or incorrect stuff and I don't want to see anymore leave because of it.

I'm through.

If you are offensive (even if you don't think you are), mean, vulgar or are just here to fight (we don't see many like this) then expect to see your posts regularly deleted. If you don't like these rules, please feel free to check out the chat/boards on yahoo.com. They have something for everyone.
I'll have you know I run a tight ship at the yahoo chat group.
There's no foolishness goes on there.
No cursing etc.
I have ladies there also and all the guys are quite respectful of that.

BTW, it's named after this site so you know I have to keep it clean.

LOL, the dance of the bionic hamsters! good one admin5

hey now! nooooo pickin on the little pick em up!

its already my favorite vehicle ever, and it hasnt even gotten into the horrid swelter weather philly is famous for!

its not quite as fun to drive as Big Green, but then again it doesnt have that rear sway bar yet, and of course it cant haul the SeaCraft, something Green did with ease (351 Windsor, I guess it did!)
The stereo falls a little short of the tri-amp system I had in green as well, lol, but I love over doing things like that, I even pumped 80 watts into the PA system.

and of course, the overhead fishing pole racks, hardwired front and rear trouble lights (hooking up the trailer at night and giving jumpstarts, red footwell lights, just stuff, lol

course, once I get that cap on there ....

:p

Re: Reason for board changes *please read*

maybe i'm in the minority here :)

seriously though, it appears to me that iboats is giving a 'get lost' to those who don't offer technical experience to others...

i absolutely don't mean this as an offensive post. but just reading what was posted by admins.

i guess i will be a shortimer here, since it will not be easy to drop out. AMF

(edited 11/20 @ 11:59am at postcount1599)
i looked up all the recent posts by admin5. thanx, i'm glad mindless banter is still allowed even if offering nothing else -lol

Yea, I was wondering if anyone else was getting that read on it too.

It's a shame too.

A "person" can get on here and call people names and get by with it, but let someone say something about "him", and your dirt.

They have way to much nose stuck where it don't belong sometimes.

See there mod's, I mentioned no names.
It is just a observation that has been made by more than myself.

Common guys, yall aint that thin skinned are you?

Buck up, Cowboy up, Tufhgn up, Take it like a man, However ya wanna say it.

There are many of us round here who put little of value into this great resource myself included. That is not an insult, just a fact. Who cares, admin aint cutting on ya there just explaining why they did what they did. The way I read it were still welcome here, may never make admiral here but who cares...I don't.

Admin 5, get that link to the dead hamsters out of there, before it gets poofed!!

Feel free to change my title to "Loner Loser Guy"

But seriously, maybe you could change the titles of the two forums to clear up the difference.
many new members will never see this thread, and will have no idea.

Perhaps "Non Boat Fix-It Topics" and "Much Ado About Nothing". Or "Ramblings of the Insane". :p

Changes, Changes, Changes! They will always be coming this way. We learn to deal with changes with our government so we might as well be use to it here.

In the future there will probably be a same gender forum. I don't agree with that particular situation, but its not for me to judge.

The FAQ's forum is good for the newbies. One does get tired and annoyed of rehashing the same info. I scan the other forums to give my input on items that I think that I can be assistance to. I'm just more cautious on what answers I give. For instance I had posted a way a exteral straight line crack can be repaired cheaply on a block. I got slammed by, "I wouldn't Trust That Repair" It won't work. I know it has worked and saved money for me and several others. So I don't suggest that type of repair anymore. This type repair was used before epoxies and other methods were invented. At one time it was common. Just a lost technique lost in time.

I remain a member because of the friendships, knowledge, and ideas that arise from this site. I feel it is this section that aids in retaining new members because of the coffee shop atmosphere conversations. The regulars make you feel at home.

I have had posts deleted, some because of my actions, but some due to others comments. It might bother me somewhat, but I'm not going to cry about it.

Enough said.......SS

Re: Reason for board changes *please read*

Have been pushing it at both ends to try to get into new house for Thanksgiving so I haven't had the usual time here. Guess I have missed a pile of stuff going on. What Admin has said makes sense to me, even though I must be one of the deadbeats that he is talking about, I understand what he is saying. I do agree with Roscoe that the titles seem a little unclear and maybe there could be a bit of a change there.

Remember guys, it is their site, they are paying for it, and unless we patronize them, there is no $ coming in to continue what they are doing. So, lets try to support them and keep this great forum together. (And some that are offended, get some tougher skin. We certainly don't want to see you leave the forum!)

Well, I do order stuff from them. But I still don't like someone saying we are mindless banter. I think I'll go debate on some other forum.

Seems like a few of you folks have forgooten how you felt when you reached that magic number.. It just shows how much you have helped folks out here..The name you are right is just a name but its recognition for a job well done. For many of us its a place to meet new folks even though we don't know Jack about boats or engines but do love to fish..

Many of you Disagree with JB and the mods on how they run this site..Anyone who has posted over 8000 posts or more is in my book someone who is out to help people not hinder..Remember this site is only as good as we make it..Its there site and I personally think they do a h... of a job..

Re: Reason for board changes *please read*

Hi guys and gals. Sorry about the mindless banter comment. I was just trying to get your goat and it seems to have worked on a few of you. Please let me set the record straight.

People who only post in this area are NOT thought of as second class iboats citizens. You are not even thought of as third class either ;) I am totally joking! You just need more management than the rest of the areas combined  Let me be even more clear - we love you ebb, spin, oddjob, gonfishin, hooty, ss and the rest of you.

The reason for all my posts was to help bring back the understanding that this place is not just some computer in a technical collage's library where you guys come to play. This is iboats - a family-owned boating business's front showroom where tens of thousands of people just so happen to like to congregate and share a little of themselves with others. Hopefully people will look around every once in a while and be grateful for the meeting place and then go into the next room and buy a cleat or a fender or gps. --Yeah I know, that analogy was pretty thick but I think gets the point across.
