Re: Remote Oil Filter Issue

We have a BINGO! :)

The oil is now curculating through the filter, as it is now getting hot just like the port engine.

The real question is, how long has it been like this???? No way to really tell I guess.... :(

Please tell us that because the oil in that engine was not getting filtered the first thing you are going to do before you use the boat again is change it :)

Can I ask what you mean by "valve assembly"? And why would this have caused your problem? I'd like to get educated today :D

So in otherwords, now we have to be sure the oil filter is getting warm even if you don not have a remote filtet, :faint2: interesting indeed. Nice find 300.

Correct... Quite challenging to do on some boats, that do not have a remote filter.

Congrats, I like a happy ending! But I am trying to understand as well... Part #14 in which document? So the connection going to the filter was loose and so the oil pump would circulate oil in the pan but not up through the filter or engine as well? I'm guessing if the engine hasn't been getting oil, it hasn't been that way long.

How about some pics? :)

Click on the link in post 26.

The oil comes from the pan via the oil pump, and the next place it is suppose to go is through the filter, [in my case a remote one] before going on to the rest of the engine. The engine was always getting oil, its just that most of it was bypassing the filter.
