Good point.
I was thinking of filling it before we headed out but thats not going to work.
I do have a thru hull fitting on the port side that I need to take advantage of,thats were the water could come from just have to look at some different pumps and see whats avalible.

Installing new gas fill hose and patching the floor.
I used 3 layers of 1.5 oz cloth, each layer bigger than the one under it.
Cut at a 45 degree angle so the wood would lay back in nicely

Haven't been feelin good lately, touch of the flu, but still managed to get some work done.
Two more layups to tabb the deck.

I know it's not the most popular choice but we went the the el cheapo carpet and it looks great. I covered the deck with a really thick layer of resin so it should hold up for a long time.

Thanks.
My neibor is the only one brave enough to splash her with me. Maybe this weekend if all the bugs are worked out.

Looks great! How many hours would you guess you have into it? I'm asking because I'm trying to decide whether to do my boat or buy a new one. If I can replace the transom, stringers and deck in about 50 hours, I'll do it next winter in the garage, otherwise, I'll buy new next spring.

I lost track of how much time it took but if I did it again with what I know now, I think I could do the transom and the deck in at least 30hrs.
I did not have to do the stringers so I dont have a clue on that.
Wish I could help ya out more and I can tell you this. I'm so glad I did this and I have so much pride in this old boat I don't think I'll ever get rid of it.
Have fun boatting.

Thank you. Your information is a BIG help in deciding what to do. If it took you 30 hours to do the transom and deck it will probably take me at least double that, but I can live that. I just don't want to spend half my winter grinding fiberglass and rotten wood out of a boat. 60 hours is more than enough.

As for the wood work, mechanical repairs and applying resin to fiberglass cloth, that part is a blast and I don't care if it takes longer.

I have the room in my garage for my boat, so I think this will be the last summer with the old deck, stringers and transom. This September I'll build a cradle for it in the garage and start ripping it apart.
