Re: Replacing rectifier - 115 Merc
Your battery doesn't seem to be charging. You should have seen an increase in voltage across the battery when you cranked it and it was idling.

Also on my boat, when reading the + terminal on the rectifier, it was the same voltage as reading across the battery.

Another prob is on your "other non +" you read .65vac. This should have been about equal to the non + of 8.91vac. Seems rectifier is not getting correct amount of AC voltage from stator due to the one reading being way too low, this in turn would cause the rectifier not to put out and adequate amount of DC voltage to the battery. Does that make sense?

I would start there, trace out wires, make sure nothing is broken on the weak non + wire. Could also try to un hook it from the rectifier, then read it (careful dont get it against a ground)with motor at idle. If it is 8.91vac unhooked from rectifier, you might have gotten a bad rectifier that is loading it down or shorting it. If not good then look backwards toward stator wires, etc.

I know for sure my readings are accurate on mine. Even the 13.33 vdc across battery with motor off. I have 2 fluke multi meter's. One I use at work, and gets calibrated annually.

If I am wrong, I am sure someone will correct me.
