. New to boating, Have a Rinker 192 4.3 Alpha with a 19 pitch SS high 5 prop. WOT will hit rev limiter 4800rpm.
Question: Really don't need a High 5 all the time. Will only rarely be pulling. Do like the fast plane though. Would like a bit more at the top. Was contemplating a 3 or 4 blade but whats best for cruising. All helpful advice appreciated.

Re: Rinker 192

Welcome to iboats. Post up a pic of your ride (boat). We love pics.

I doubt the rev limiter is at 4800. Is that your wot rpm? Or did you stop pushin the throttle down once you hit that rpm, and you have more throttle left? If that is your wot, I would get something like a 21p 3 blade aluminum. They are cheap and easy to find. But you could probably sell the highfive on craigslist and get you a nice 4 blade ss prop that you won't have to swap when you want to do watersports. I think they are the best all around props out there. I like the solas since they are the most affordable.

I am hitting the rev limiter. REVS no further. Curious about size of 4 blade best for my boat.

If you get us the info needed in the stickys at the top of the prop forum we can tell better what you need.

Re: Rinker 192

1) Performance issue you are trying to correct. change prop for more middle of the road performance.
not just neck snappin hole shot. maybe more top end

2) Current prop manufacturer, model, aluminum or stainless as a minimum. High 5 19 pitch

3) Current prop diameter and pitch (required). 13.25 I THINK 19 pitch

4) Wide open throttle RPM and speed with an average load (very helpful) 4800 when it hits rev limiter

5) Engine/drive make, model, year, and HP Mercruiser 2009 4.3 220 hp w/ alpha 1 OD

6) Boat make model, year, length and weight Rinker 192 19.5 feet about 3000 lbs fully loaded

Sounds like the Hi-Five is lots o' blades and not much diameter.

Most 19-21P props will be bigger diameter. I think you are somewhere around a 21P 4-blade, or 19P 4-blade of a more traditional 14"+ diameter.

Thanks for the reply Phil. I have thought that my boat does not have the proper wheel on it. It'll pull like hell but it's really weak in the top end and hits the rev limiter. I really don't have any real world comparisons for this boat so I am needing good advice.
I was looking in the 14x20 or 14x21 four blade range.

Re: Rinker 192

If you really are hitting the rev limiter (which is an electronic device that cuts off the engine briefly so it doesn't over rev) and not just hitting 4800 because that's all she has to offer, then I would think the 14x20p is right.

Thanks Phil. Yes it has a rev limiter so it drops power to insure the engine doesn't over rev. With the high 5 I am sure I am turning too many revs at the top end because the limiter always kicks in and I have to back off the throttle a hair. I have tried a dozen "Select a Prop" search engines from every other web site and I keep coming up with 14.25x20 or there abouts. I think I may give it a try. Thank you.

Re: Rinker 192

Long time no reply but for new 192'ers that might be looking for a good prop match, The 14.25x20 FOUR BLADE is a great ALL ROUND match for the 192 with a 4.3 alpha 1 drive. I went with a Stiletto.
