I Prefer the new "safety" can as I can get the can tipped and into the nozzle then push the button, our other older can it is a struggle to make this transition before it starts pouring out and I accidently got the back of the boat a little last night:(

I am about to drill a small vent hole in mine, then plug with a wood screw. If it doesn't work, I can seal it.

I added a vent to mine using a metal tire valve stem minus the valve. Drilled a hole at the rear of the handle the right size, fed a string in the hole and fished it back out the spout hole. Feed the string through the valve stem and tie a small nut on the end of the string. Pull the string back through the hole and secure with the nut.
