saw snake leaving my mancave

My mancave isnt real big 22x32 and I have a back side door I often leave open for ventilation while Im out there . I have a tv too and after watching it I got up and there going out the door behind where I had been setting was the last 2 feet of a snake . It had a dark brown and white pattern on its back but wasnt fat like the copperheads here are but it still sorta scared me.Maybe it sat there and watched "law and order" with me....I think it was a baby rat snake which we have plenty of around here....I dont plan to tell the wife because she still isnt over knowing I found a large black snake skin in the attic last fall....I told her I was sure it had left but she does not believe me...I dont blame her. It looked like this pretty much

Black Rat Snake........ That is one of it's colors and it is in full color for being a young one. Not poisonous and common all around. http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/black_rat_snake.htm

Seriously though, if you caught my thread about bears you'll know why the door to my cave stays closed at all times and locked at night. He hit me again last night!

Snake skins last a long time inside or sheltered. I'm guessing you don't have a mice problem either!! Great idea to keep a snake around to keep womens out of the Mancave!!

Because it would be her luck she would open straight to the snake page. Yeah, I can see my wife doing that too....

I showed the wife 'speck's snake pic a while back. She bolted straight out the room. Just wanted to show her who 'speck was, honestly! Coaxed her back in and I had to cover the snake attached to his thumb. Yeah, it crossed my mind to remove my hand from the screen. Figured that would have been a little too mean. Besides, I hadn't had supper yet.....lol
