service manual question

[hardwater fisherman]

my question is that i have 2 1976 40 hp outboards. one is a johnson electric start short shaft. the other is an evinrude rope start long shaft. if i buy a manual for my evinrude will it also cover the johnson? im converting the evinrude to electric start using the parts from the johnson. thanks in advance.

Yes. they are the same manual............

ok thanks. do you think it will be helpful? some of the wires are cut and i need to install a key or push button.
