B/ball these days due to<br />animosity I feel towards the arrogance of players.<br /><br />looks like there is only 1 rule where players are<br />banned from the HOF right now though. we shouldn't<br />use this as an excuse to also toss out the 1 and<br />only real rule we got! I know what you mean MY. I took my oldest boy (6) to a Celtics game last month. Fairly good seats, 6 rows back under the hoop. I heard more swearing from the players than I heard in a bar full of marines and sailors in the phillipines.<br /><br />Today's athelete really riles me up.

Carp,<br /><br />I would treat him according to the rules. No more, no less. Whatever the rules say regarding using a corked bat should be applied. I think it should (and will) be taken into account when he becomes eligible for the HOF.

I agree 100% Mellow.<br /><br />I guess thats why I love College Basketball soo much. Its nice to see players playing their butts off without having a paycheck on the line.<br /><br />Yeah, I know that almost all of these players are playing to get to the next level, and the millions of dollars that they will get at that level, but at least in college, many are just playing for the love of the game, with no chance at the next level.<br /><br />Remember to watch them Louisville Cardinals. Figured you would like them Cardinals Mellow, since they had one of them east coast boys as a coach................Rick Pitino of course.

The rules are ridiculous if they allow any cheating.<br /><br />I personally don't condone any cheating in any sport. <br /><br />Baseball should change their rules, IMO.<br /><br />Sammy is still playing, thats reason enough for me to watch another sport.<br /><br />I think weve beat this dead horse to death and back again.

Could I just point out that Sammy's claim of accidently using a batting-practice bat in the game was substantiated (circumstantially) by x-rays of his 76 remaining bats. <br /><br /> http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0604/1563115.html <br /><br />Also, bat-tampering carries with it a penalty, just like holding in football or travelling in basketball.

Jtexas, holding in football is hardly cheating, just like a foul in Basketball is not cheating. <br /><br />If Sammy had 70 or so bats that were not corked, then why did he even have that one that IS corked? And what are the odds that out of 70 or so bats, that he would grab the one corked one to use in a game <br /><br />Sammy Sosa is a cheater, plain and simple. What Pete did is no worse.

You don't want me on the jury flyrod, if you did the crime you will be doin the time. He didn't commit a crime, he broke the rules of baseball. Big difference between betting on a game and peddaling crack. Like I said before, I don't know if he belongs there or not.

Hey gaugeguy <br />I think that I owe you an apology. I only read the stats that you posted. I should have read the other 1/2 dozen post of yours. I don't think that I would want you on the jury. <br />Your like me,"GUILTY".<br />Also he will never get into the hall of fame until the 22 year olds of today become the old timers,because they have the final say. Somebody like Daryle Strawberry probably will vote him in.untill that time he is out.<br />No matter how well someone performs, when they go against the rules they should be terminated.

In today's WSJ, John Dowed, the attorney that did the official investigation of Rose for gambling on baseball said he had evidence Rose bet against his team, the Reds, while the Manager The evidence was corroborated by 2 sources. Since he had a 3 source standard for all items in the report, he left it out of the offcial final report.

He was puting some money in the town bank and they bused the whole school over everyone got an autograph and photo with him....I also saw him at 3 rivers stadium. Im not a big follower of baseball...but thanks to this debate I have even more respect for him than I did before(mainly as a baseball player). He may gain even more fame/noteriaty(sp) if he isnt inducted..
