Re: Snake Bite!!!!
I thought i'd share while we're on the subject......the first time I was bitten I guess I was about 10 yrs old. An older friend 16, had caught and had kept in an aquarium for weeks a very healthy, large, heavy, 6+ foot black snake that was very docile and never bit anyone while we frequently played w it. One day I caught a large bullfrog in the creek behind our houses and Jerry was standing in his yard showing off the big snake ( to some girls ) when I came along. For some reason we decided to see what would happen if we introduced the reptile and amphibian ( Jerrys idea ) and while Jerry held the snake, I held the frog in front of the snakes face w one hand grasping the large frog. A flick or 2 of the snakes tounge and BAM it struck and engulfed the whole head of the frog and alot of my hand,(finger and thumb and the web in between ). I tried to pull my hand out and quickly determined pulling away wasn't going to work as my hand began to bleed alot. We struggled for a long while to free my hand while my "friend" kept saying " DON"T HURT MY SNAKE ". I finally determined the snake liked my frog alot more than I did and we finally pryed the jaws apart enough to remove myself from it's large expanded bite and he layed the snake on the ground while we all watched the frog slowly disappear. I remember screaming in my friends face as we struggled to get my hand out " geeezz Jerry, don't your feed you dang snake!!!? "
