Re: Spain

this divide and (coalition) conquer mentality
will most assuradly backfire on these criminals.
don't be so short sighted folks.
GW was polite enuff to ask for world unity, but
he still did what needed to be done without it in
the end. this "seek and destroy" terrorist policy
is by far the most effective and productive IMHO.
(we'll still hunt you down and kill you even if
it's unpopular) if not US...., who?
don't fool yourself, WE are the real targets in
this tradgedy! A.Q.has been quite weakened and
it is much easier to chip away at the exterior.
not to diminish the greif in Spain, but all A.Q.
did here was to make a new enemy and strengthen
the world's resolve against them.

SBN, he was on a conference call with Kerry and the Press when he said it. The President has asked Kerry to repudiate the statement and so far he won't.

MY - I hope you are right but they had a major win in Spain.

If bush wpuld have stayed in afghanistan and really gone after this alqueda outfit things would be different. but no, he already had his mind made up to go after iraq before he took the oath of office. what happened in new york had nothing to do with iraq, but the son of a ***** used it anyway just to get what he wanted, which is that f******x oil thats in the middle east.

Re: Spain

As far as Im concerned, I could care less what his(Bush) personal agenda was, the fact of the matter is the that Iraq needed to be whooped on for the same reason Germany did in world war 2. Those of you who think otherwise would feel different if it was your families being ethnicly "cleansed"
Years of sitting by and letting the world act as it wanted too led up to many terrable groups and counrties out there, for exsample Al Qida, Saddam, Iran ect... ect.... to grow in power and gain momentium until we now have to worry about attacks on our own soil. The world is becomeing smaller and smaller, 50 years ago travling accross the world was a hard thing to do. not anymore. If we dont act as the worlds police or protectors who will? The U.N. was and is a joke.

By the way Nailbender our boys who are over in afganistan probably would feel a little different then you do about "if we would have stayed in afganistan and REALLY went after this al qiada outfit"

Re: Spain

hello
wow what a post. a a gulf war veteran now I am thinking after the spain trick its almost time to make it a holy sh!t war. yeahaa. its coming down to us(christian west) verses them (middle eastern Muslim) war. if we have to wipe out the muslims as a viable religion I wont mind. just dont lie to me about it. all the talk of nuking Iraq and Iran. hail we armed both of them. sold them all they have. Iran still has over 75 F-14 tomcats that we sold them in the 70's. but no one has talked about nuking the saudi's. if you think the saudi are our friends I have some louisianna property to sell ya. next low tide ill show it to you. we cannot take osama. he is a royal prince. by the muslim/islamic code we cant touch him or the sauds have to attack us. we have kept the saudi royal family in power for way to long. as long as they kept the pumps on we keep them in power. they need our military protection as much as we need their oil. that is a quandry. maybe the aussie's can nab him for us :) :) .
anyway I feel badly for all that lost their lives in such a cowardly attack. I pray everynight that they will be redeemed. but I for one am almost ready to use the old inquesition trick again,
anyway enough ramble
a lot of good points made here
Good luck. god bless and keep posting

Re: Spain

Don't forget the fact that during the oil embargo of 73' Saddam/Iraq was the ONLY Arab/country selling oil to the US. Amazing huh? You created your own monster in a way. The incredible wealth created for his people by way of infrastructure development, bought tremendous loyalty among his people. Once this was secured it could never be relinquished without force.

The Saudis are very bad apples too. Iran...etc etc...

There's a Tiger in your tank!!

Re: Spain

It was inevitable, thats for sure. It was also contained until the hunt for Bin Laden and his senior operatives and those directly responsible for 911, and probably the Madrid bombings, and the ones that will likely next occur in the US heaven forbid, are captured.

Ironic though that OUR dollars ultimately created the mess in the first place. When will we learn that our thirst for cheap oil, and the propping up of militant leaders or royal dictatorships/"government" like in Saudi Arabia, will ultimately bite the world in the a$$?

Re: Spain

Holy moly I do believe I and Toad are in agreement on something, Saddam is a monster :D I also believe we created a monster but also somebody had to take care of that monster. If we would have waited for the UN it never would have happened IMHO I cant think of any other way we could have accomplished taking him out of power other than what we did. As for doing it our way and not waiting for the UN, well you see how spain is handling the problem and we all know how france,Germany and Russia all feel about this. As far as Im concerned Saudi Arabia should be next :p

Bad apples is a discription thats too kind.

In my realm of thought,i consider the entire middle east to be a gigantic festering sore in desperate need of an antiseptic bath.

Re: Spain

I learned tonight that despite our pouring $40B into Egypt since Camp David, the average Egyptian does not know it. They don't even know the aid they get from the NGOs is coming from the US because it is not branded. SHOCKING! The Bush Admin has a new strategy to bypass the governments and talk directly to the people of the region through a new TV network.

Yep! that's another dictator we prop up,that 40 billion dollars and the many other billions of tax dollars we spend propping up these jerks that brutalizes their people pays a dividend, and that dividend is called hate, when unleashed, such anger is difficult for the average American to fathom. Our economy needs most of those tax dollars which could be invested in a better education for todays youth and the retraining of the workers who lost their jobs due to an expanding global economy.
