I have been offered 2004 6hp mercury long shaft to use as a kicker/backup on my superfisherman for a real good price. Friend has been using it on a 18' mako for a kicker, and wants a little more power. Dealer offered him $450 on trade for a 9.9. He offered it to me at that price. Said he would rather it go to a friend that a "thief dealer" as he put it.
I am not shure if this will be a decent motor for my uses, or if its to small. I know a 2 cyl 8 or 9.9 will be ideal, but I don't have the money for it right now. Will the 6 work for the time being, or am I asking to much?
Btw, I will be using the boat on inland waters with not alot of current most of the time, with a little tidal bay use.
thanks
