Hey everyone im still working away on my Tempest resto haven't had a lot of time to work on it but 2 weekends ago i got the stringers cut and pl'ed in place i glassed them all in on a very hot Sunday and went out Monday to see how it was all going and the glass was still wet and had more air bubbles then not? when i left Sunday it was PERFECT. Then Monday it was a mess it looked like the wood blew all the glass off so i waited 4 days came out it was still wet like it had no hardener. anyways i ground everything i did off and was back to clean wood, tarped the boat and left. then we had a huge rain storm and it blew the tarps off and flooded the boat. the water was in for about 1 day. I finally got there to clean it out and now I'm not sure how long i have to wait for this wood to dry out before i re-glass?? I know why the glass messed up the first time (didnt mix the resin and hardener enough) but how long does this wood have to dry before reglassing? or do i have to rip it out and remake the stringers?

Re: Stringers got WET?!?!

I would say let it dry for a couple weeks.
Try and find a place where there is direct sun and that will really help. If that is not possible, maybe put some box fans on it...just my opinion.
Also, another possible reason that your glass bubbled is if you didn't use a grooved roller over all your newly layed glass. This gets all the air out, and I had to do it several times after I did my deck. Here is a link to what I am talking about....might be a worthy investment! http://uscomposites.com/fgrollers.html

Hope this helps you out a bit.

Boatflipper,
Thank you very much for posting the link to the aluminum head roller. I haven't killed myself looking, but the time I have spent I have only been able to find plastic.
