hey guys, still no progress,,,, im about to cut that cable out, but a lil voice in my head keeps telling me NOT to cut it, maybe this guy howard has access to a torch an he can help me out,,,lets see

That little voice should be telling you to cut it, cause if you have to heat it to get it out, it's gonna be shot anyway. At this point, why not let "SoLittle" help you out. I'm sure he could fix ya up..

i finnaly got the #@#@@ out. it gave way friday. the tilt housing wasnt in that bad of shape, but on the port side it was. thats where it was geting stuck. i think im going to have to replace it. i need a new cable too beacuse i ended up cuting it, i was able to hammer it out from starboard to port real easy. now all i need is to find a tilt housing. turns out howard has owned alot of motors so he might know where i could find one. thanks for all your help guys (rick n sco) take care.

Is the tilt tube ok and straight?<br />If so, you can clean the inside. I used sandpaper wrapped around a dowell and used a portable drill, and a lot of wd40. Got to shiny though pitted metal. Gladd its working out.

yea i was going to buy a new one, its about 50 bucks plus the bushings an the nuts, but i think ill use sand papaer, i bought a bore cleaner an it leaned the non rusted parts real good, i didnt have any sand paper but im sure that will do the trick, i dont really feel like taking that hting apart, i just want to go fishing. thanks for all your help guys,,,,,this concludes this chapter of stuck steering. i think we all learned a little bit,,,
