Re: Taking Christ out of Christmas
The attempts to remove Christianity have been going on since Moses was truckin-aroun in the desert. It just seems that this year, Christians around the world are saying in other words, "The line has been crossed, and no further".
It was just such an attack on Christianity, that got my attention, and changed the couirse my life was on. I'm sure that I was (and am) not alone here.
Like the Movie, "Network" (when he got mad as hel,and wasn't going to take it anymore), Christians are standing thier ground now, where they used to "turn the other cheek". I also think 9/11/01 may have shaken wayward Christians like me to thier core, and shocked tham into facing thier demons, and concentrating on what matters most in this short time God gives us on Earth.
Life is just a proving-ground (IMHO), and we should all make the most of it, while keeping our eyes on the prize. Unlike the Islamic extremists, life MEANS something to us. Life is meaningless to someone who will blow themselves up in the bleachers.
Christ's Name, to those who love Him, is inseperable from the day we we celebrate His birth. It would be a meaningless day in any other form the interlopers assign it. And it will never be re-asigned.
I respect the rights of others, provided they not tamper with Jesus' birthday. I rejoyce with the Jews durring Hanika. The Jews and Jehova's Whitnesses have allways respected our observence of the day as Jesus' birthday, without interference, even though they do not celebrate the day like we do.
But the fight continues, folks. Do not let your gaurd down, and keep fighting ,because many extremist groups want the Christ out of the holi-day.
