Not to mention a song of six pence. When my wife and I were married she wore the traditional six pence (one I had brought back from England) in here shoe. I still have one of the old pound notes. Guess you know what a beating I took on that one.

Is the exchange rate still about a dollar eighty to the pound? If so wouldn't that be more like 20 cents? How many pennies to the pound? How many Euro dollars to the dollar US?
When I exchanged for the Pound Sterling it took two dollars and eight-four cents to buy it. The British Pound is worth a dollar and seventy seven cents. If there are one hundred pennies (pence) in a British pound that means your ten pence is worth almost eighteen cents. So you didn't get beat quite as bad as it first seemed.
