This may come as a suprise to you to you techno but I do know exactly how much!!!!!!!.......It's worth £1.00 but you will need to take it to a British high street bank to get your money as they were taken out of circulation many years ago.

Not one of your better investments ;) :p

This nostalgia business just isn't what it used to be. :) I imagine I could find a collector who might disagree with you. Silver certificates in the US have been out of circulation for many years as well as silver coins. The collectors value them at about 8 to 10 dollars US. What makes the Mona Lisa so valuable? I will keep my pound note. Thank you.
BTW How much is a Wimpy Burger in London these days? ;)

You aren't sorry at all. You are gloating. As I said, I'll keep my one pound note and you can have the differnce. Leave it to the scots to know the value of a dollar. :D Now what kind of work is it that you do? Oh, BTW good of you to make your presence known. There are some who care. :p

Re: ten pence

Thanks techno: my absence was caused by senility......................I forgot my login name, my password and worst of all..........where I left the computer

Now forgetting the login name and password is easy enough but forgetting where the computer had been left was a bit more serious considering it's a full tower system and not a laptop

Just goes to show the state of my home office I guess.........in fact I think I can see a Red Cross Relief Team picking their way through the debris towards me now ;)

My line of work is the black art of medicine or at least it was until I took (very) early retirement last year...........but now I'm bored and daytime television is dire so I'm doing some consultancy work whilst I look for someone crazy enough to hire me at a gross salary with benefits, company Lexus and a 19 year Swedish blonde secretary......oh and 360 holidays per annum :D :D :D

Nice to be back on the board though and I guess it'll take me a few months to catch up on the posts that I've missed in my absence
