Re: The "New Boat"

saw this thread and my transom had similar squares outlined , however they were there from scoring plywood 1/8 deep with saw on a one piece transom. I was thinking for greater adhesive strength ,still got me wondering never saw anything like it . just showing you guys yet another way someone else does transom replacing.

Re: The "New Boat"

ok got the first stringer out and just traced it on the new board. got the boards for the transom too.. my parents want it out of the driveway soon. so hopefully i can at least to get the stringers in place and glassed and some pieces to hold the stringers in place so theres no deformity to the hull. throw the cap back on and put it up for the winter.

Re: The "New Boat"

Ok got the stringers cut out and got one side mostly done with resin there were a few spots that were a little moist from the rain today so i let them dry out..

well i tried to dry them quicker using my propane heater but that didnt work out.. started it and and it was doing the usual turned my back and heard something different .. turned around to see flames coming from all around the nozzle and i dont even know where else.. so i turned it off. now its zitting on the front porch..so much for the quick dry..

Good news is i got the front cushion mocked up. and the foam for under the deck comes in this weekend..

Oh and on other terms made up some new business cards.. What do you guys think?

Re: The "New Boat"

Ok transom is in. I had to move it to my old bosses house into his heated garage.. its too cold out for the resin to set this week. Both sheets of the transom our in.. tomor i hope to get my roll of fiberglass over there and glass that in there and work on getting the hull prepped for the stringers. its nice and toasty in there. the weather her is getting colder and windier so the other day to prevent all the glass from grinding from getting in my eyes i had to use my paintball mask that has good goggles.. it workd tho. .. ill get pics tomor

Re: The "New Boat"

man no one on here lol.. just ordered about $180 in parts for this exterior to be pretty much done.. and the cover for the radio bcuz we think the elements are what destroyed the last one... i fitted the gas tank in the other day but still ned to make it all final than the rest of the floor will go in. wiring is next on the list than paint the cap.. ill get pics soon but we just had a record snowfall for ct last week which i was out for about 27 hrs straight than more the 2 days after.. now we have 2 more hitting us this week.. plus school starts thursday so hoping this weekend will be a boat weekend.

from here.......its just a walk in the park kazanski. (from top gun)

too bad you had to put the cap back on so soon.......but no biggy......are you running conduit for the wires?....i ran 4 inch pvc under the side gunnels. then capped that off so sound would not transfer.

Re: The "New Boat"

Damn guys i havn't really had any time to get over there and work even tho its right down the road.. we had 2 little storms this week and more coming tuesday.. problem is we have already run out of room to put it all and its suppose to be lows of negatives for the next few days so it wont melt... enough of my rant.. i got presents from iboats today.. purchased the fuel/water separator, busbar, marine tex, tailight, and the gelcoat mix and match thing. so im hoping to get over this weekend.. ill try and get some pics this weekend if i get anywhere.
