I dont doubt the fact that it is likely illegal. But I can tell you at most of the lakes I go to it is not enforced. Half of the boats on the water are running wide open through hulls. As I said befor I was only considering the idea. Why does everybody go so nuts over the smallest stuff. Holy crap guys I thought this was a discussion board!!!!!

Probably because thru-hull exhausts can be really, REALLY, REALLY annoying LOL!

My dad and I used to have this same argument. As far as he was concerned all ski boats and pwc's should be outlawed. "because lakes are for fishing by God". And I would always tell him those guys pay there taxes and launch fees too. I personally think all lakes should do what Kinkaid did and put in a large no wake zone so when u want to fish you can fish in peace. But when you want to play on the water. You have an area for tat as well. BTW Kinkaid is in southern Illinois.

I have seen some of the through hull conversion kits ....... If I do this will it cause any problems anywhere else?

I thought it was a great idea a few years ago, even bought the cap so I could remove the y-pipe. I had to install silencers to make it bearable. It used to be twice as loud as what is in the video.

On a 4 banger....I say keep it stock.

I got the the captain call on my boat with on/off switch and love it! The thruhull is cool, but captain call is even louder!! My 2 cents..

How can captain's call be louder than thru hull? Do you have an amplifier in your exhaust diverter?
