I think someone should go back and count how many time "I told you so" and "you have to remove the plug" were said.

This thread was interesting as the original question was how bad do you think my boat is and from then on it was a dog pile. Dennis never once lost his cool and was very appreciative of the advice even when some was a little more than he asked for.

Had bad experiences here before but straighten my self out and just sit back and listen to any advice i can get instead of arguments. Works pretty well.

anti-seize becomes forever seize in a marine environment. I would simply put some teflon tape on it and be done.

op2:op2: the anti sleaze debate. I use it for some things and way back when i had a plug to mess with i use it. I havnt removed my drain plugs in 4 years, my pontoons dont leak.

The boat is okay. All the ice has melted and even the wet carpet inside the boat has dried out. As much as i could inspect the boat seems to not have any cracks or anything. Looks exactly the same as when i winterized it. The real report will be updated when will check for wet wood. Will keep you guys updated.

I still have not started the boat. I am waiting on my new oil pump to come in so i can change out the oil.

Sorry to read about the misfortune, but I would be extra Leary on the wood damage that is possible. I imagine there is a lot of exposed wood bulkheads and stringers on your boat and at this point I would be shocked if the ice didn't damage them. I hope for your sake everything is good to go, but definitely look her over with a fine tooth comb.

Wow, what a thread.
The op learned a valuable lesson and the water is out.
I live in the frozen north. Boats that get frozen like that are never the same. The wood simply gets pushed apart from freezing and turns to mush.

so after I tore my outdrive down and the gimble to remove corrosion and paint....you don't have much to work with

I will be going to the boat this weekend to fully examine it with a mechanic and will start it as well. But i am on the edge of selling the boat. Some guy offered me $6,000 for the boat. What do you guys think?
