Trim limit - alpha1

I've got an alpha 1 that I am putting back together. The manual says to adjust the trim limit so that the measurements from bolt to bolt is 21 3/4 inches. That is significantly less than what it was at when I bought it, and it doesn't look like the drive is barely above the trailer height, which is pretty scary low. Prior to my adjustment it was at least 24-25".

The trim cylinders say "powertrim xd". Are they not the factory trim cylinders? Is 21 2/3" the correct extension?

I'm looking at 4A-12 in the Alpha1 manual (Service Manual 6).

Re: Trim limit - alpha1

I bought the trim and limit switches and everybody said that they are not good and will not last anyhow, so dont bother. I think I might take that advice.

You drive was obviously not adjusted right when you got it. It's supposed to be 21-3/4" That is the max trim you want to run when running above 1200 rpm. If you want it up higher, you have to use the trailer override and need to slow the engine down.
