Hi all,
I have an Alpha Gen2 outdrive. How often is there intermittent issues with the trim pump motor itself?
Went to get the boat for the first time of the season. I have trim switches on the transom as well as the throttle lever. When I went to raise the drive to trailer it home with the transom switch, I heard the 'click' but the trim motor did not run. I tried both up and down, same result. I tried the throttle switches with the same result. Finally, after pushing the switch a few times, the trim motor started to run and raised the drive. Pushing the switches now, it works 3 out of 4 time, with both switches and both directions being intermittent. I cleaned the lugs with the gnd from the pump with no effect. Before I run out and buy a trim pump motor, can their be corrosion or lack of lubricant in the pump motor that would cause this?
Thanks!
